2005 Crossville Lions A-Team

North Alabama Youth Football Super Bowl Champions

This is a very special group of kids. This is the next generation of some of the finest football players to come through Crossville in some time. They are still raw, but they are hungry. I had a great honor in coaching these kids in 2005. Some of them for a second year. This is a tribute to the players and coaches of this 2005 team.

The season started with two teams. Due to circumstances beyond control, we were forced to combine both teams and make one. By doing so, I think it gave these boys a chance to do something special; win. Winning is an attitude. Winning is also habit. These kids have winning instilled in their hearts. They know what it is like to loose and by all means, these boys displayed  a character and will to win. They know the only thing wrong with falling is staying in that position.

Many that have seen this group play are amazed with the talent, heart, pride, guts and passion in which they played. I can't say enough just how special this group is. They WILL be a force to dealt with in just a few short years. I hope everyone will encourage and support these boys as they climb the ladder. Many will agree that they have the next shot at winning a State Championship for Crossville High School. I agree with them.

I love you guys. All of you. Other than the success I enjoyed playing for Crossville in the 1980's, this has got to be one of the most special moments in my life. God Bless you all !!

What a ride it was.
