         BLACK FOREVER
Some of the 1996 Seniors following 1st Round Playoff Victory
versus Phil Campbell. This would be their final victory celebration.

*  Crossville would play a 6-A school for the first time in school history.

1996 would see Crossville posting back to back 10 win seasons for the first time since 1986 and 1987. A Playoff loss to Plainview would be hard to swallow for many Crossville faithful, as the Lions gave up a 10-0 lead late in the game.

Mikie Wade would finish as Crossville's All Time Leading Rusher and would make ALL State twice. One of the finest backs I have seen. He played 30 lbs heavier than he was. The heart of a true Lion.

This is in my opinion, the most complete and best team Crossville has fielded since 1988. The defense was a throwback to some of the great defenses of old, a lot of heavy hits to be sure.

The 1996 Lions would feature not only the All time leading rusher in Mikie Wade, but also Sophomore Brad Bruce would pass Jarrod Hulgan, to become Crossville's All time leading passer at the finish of his career.
