Crossville would rarely score, let alone win a game in 1952. 5 coaches in 5 years certainly had  to take it's toll.  I've been told by a member of that team that there was very little in the way of leadership and that many of the players just didn't put up much of a fight.

Some put the blame on Head Coach Rosy Davis. I'm not sure it could all be placed on him however. Coach Davis had much success for many years prior to his stint with the Lions, as a head coach for Collinsville.

 It would not get any better the following season.
